Sourcing standards

Claims on this site are sourced to primary materials wherever they exist: ISO policy forms and endorsements, state statutes and regulations, state Department of Insurance publications, NAIC data, court decisions, and regulator guidance. We do not publish premium or "average cost" figures: pricing varies too much by state, class, and carrier for a single number to be honest. Where we cite other market data — limits, claim frequency — we name the dataset and its vintage. Secondary sources are used only for context and are always identified.

Policy language controls over any summary of it. Where forms vary by carrier or state, we say so rather than pretending one answer fits all.

How pages are produced

Research and drafting are assisted by AI tools. No page is published without review by a named editor, and every page carries a visible byline, publish date, and last-reviewed date. Where a licensed broker or attorney has reviewed a page, they are credited by name. We would rather publish fewer pages than publish unreviewed ones.

Update cadence

Form-sensitive and regulation-sensitive pages are re-reviewed at least quarterly; every page is re-reviewed at least annually. The "Reviewed" stamp on each page is honest: we update dateModified only when the content substantively changes, never to manufacture freshness.

Corrections

Errors reported to hi@komodo.insure are triaged within a week. Substantive corrections update the page with a new reviewed date; where a correction changes the answer itself, we note the change on the page.

Independence

pleasedontsue.us carries no advertising, affiliate relationships, sponsored placements, or lead-generation arrangements. No carrier, broker, or vendor pays for coverage or placement, and none reviews content before publication. The site is funded by Komodo Risk Inc.; that relationship is disclosed on the about page.

What this site is not

General information, not advice. Reading this site does not create a broker–client or attorney–client relationship, and buying decisions should be confirmed with a licensed broker or attorney in your state who can read your actual policy.
